“A link between conservative traditional calligraphy and our augmented reality”
Karim Jabbari

Karim Jabbari b. 1978, Tunis
Karim Jabbari is a Tunisian-born, Canadian-raised artist known for his unique blend of Arabic calligraphy, street art, and light-based performance. His work bridges tradition and modernity, exploring metaphysical themes, the roots of technology, and the preservation of Arabic script. Drawing from his personal collection of ancient manuscripts, Karim weaves historical narratives into contemporary public art using Maghribi and old Kufic scripts, creating powerful visual dialogues across time and space.

This exhibition unfolded in several stages, starting with a city intervention where artists KARIM JABBARI and KHALIL ABDULWAHID explored the vibrant Al Satwa neighborhood of Dubai. It continued with an outdoor performance in the industrial Al Quoz area, where we transformed a construction site into a warm, welcoming space that reflected the urban spirit of Karim’s vision. After the performance, Inloco Gallery opened its doors to showcase Karim’s personal exhibition of photography and calligraphy. Many works resonated with visitors, with several sold on the opening night.
To mark the opening, London-based musician FaceSoul joined us for a one-day performance, blending voice, rhythm, and soul in a powerful live act. His original soundscape, created specifically for this event, continued to accompany the exhibition throughout its entire run, adding depth and emotion to the gallery experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening and helped create such a magical atmosphere — full of warmth, intelligence, and meaningful conversations. Your presence made the evening truly special.
